“Children are the living messages we send to a time we will not see.” ~~Neil Postman

Adoption is, at its core, a story that begins with loss—a profound and often unspoken loss. It marks the severing of a connection to one's biological family, to cultural roots, and to a deeply personal sense of origin and belonging.

Miles and Willa, recently adopted through international adoption, are living this reality again. Their journey is not just one of transition between homes or countries—it’s a journey of coming from everything they’ve ever known and being uprooted yet one more time.

Miles and WillaThey are displaced, not only in home, but in identity, in language, in the comfortable predictability of daily life. The living message they carry is one born of rejection, of being let go--even if for reasons beyond their control or comprehension.

We are currently searching for a forever family for Miles (11) and Willa (9), ideally Spanish speaking and Illinois residents (though willing to explore all possibilities). If you feel like your family might the one equipped to help rewrite their living message and work patiently through the healing with them, reach out to Misty.Lucas@gladney.org.
