The Aleda Madison Scholarship recognizes and uplifts international adoptees who are pursuing their dreams in higher education in honor of an international adoption legacy: Aleda Madison. This year’s winners are not only talented and determined, but they are also storytellers, creators, and visionaries who represent the bright future of their fields.
First Place – $5,000 Scholarship
We are thrilled to award Anneliese Cobb first place. Anneliese is attending Media Design School, where she is studying Game Art. Her passion for creativity and innovation shines through her work, and we look forward to sharing more of her artistic journey with our community.
Second Place – $2,500 Scholarship
Our second-place winner, Hannah Copalingua from Rowan University, is studying Sports Communication and Media. Hannah’s drive to combine her love of sports with impactful storytelling highlights the importance of representation and voice in media.
Honorable Mentions – $500 Awards
We also celebrate our three honorable mentions, each of whom impressed us with their submissions and unique perspectives:
-
Angie Lucas – Representing Crowder College, studying General Studies
-
Isabella Nichols – Representing Duke Kunshan University, studying Arts & Media
-
Kalia Yager – Representing the University of Cincinnati, studying Fashion Design
Each of these students has shown incredible dedication, and we are honored to support their educational journeys.
Looking Ahead
One of the most exciting parts of this scholarship is not just awarding funds, but also sharing the incredible work of these adoptee scholars. We can’t wait to feature their submissions in the future and highlight the creative ways they express their identities, experiences, and aspirations. Their stories remind us of the power of opportunity, community, and resilience.
A Legacy of Support
The Aleda Madison Scholarship continues to be a meaningful way to honor adoptees and encourage them as they pursue their dreams. By supporting their education, we are also celebrating the unique perspectives they bring to their chosen fields.
Congratulations once again to Anneliese, Hannah, Angie, Isabella, and Kalia. Your hard work inspires us, and we are excited to see the impact you will make in the world.
