Ambassador Trip to China for Volunteers - Dates!

Written by Superkids Team | 9/9/19 12:30 PM

The first trip to Jiangxi, China, under the Ai Xing Da Shi (‘Loving Heart Ambassador’) program is being planned for volunteers during the Thanksgiving Holiday week of November, 2019.  Departure from the U.S. will be on Nov. 22, 2019 with return to the U.S. on Nov. 30, 2019.  Since this trip is only 2 months away – the first thing to do is check to see if your passport is valid (must be valid through June 2020).

The Ai Xing Da Shi (‘Loving Heart Ambassador’) program is a guided visitation trip in which volunteers are able to spend time with children living in social welfare institutes and eligible for international adoption.  Volunteers include adults who are intending to adopt from China as well as adults who support adoption from China.  The China Centre for Children’s Welfare and Adoption intends for the Ambassador Program to be an opportunity to help more children find adoptive families.  During the visitation periods, volunteers will be part of both routine activities and special activities that provide the children with stimulating experiences and the caring interactions of adults.  Through the participation of child-centered activities, as well as conversations with caregivers, volunteers will learn more about the children’s physical surroundings, daily routines, therapeutic care, and education.

If you are a prospective adoptive parent and interested in learning more about this trip, please email superkids@gladney.org. Prospective adoptive parents are strongly encouraged to complete an adoption home study prior to volunteering for an Ambassador trip.
If you are interested in volunteering on a trip, but not considering adoption for your family, please contact mary.chapman@gladney.org for more information.
