How to Participate in the 2025 SuperKids Adventure Program

Right now, an 11-year-old on the other side of the world is wondering about his future family. He’s been in care since he was five.

He loves soccer, and he’s funny—really funny. He makes the other kids laugh all the time. But sometimes, when he thinks no one is looking, his smile fades, and he asks the caregivers the same question:

"Do you think someone will ever choose me?"

He’s not alone. There are many children like him—kids who are waiting for a family to love them, support them, and give them a place to belong.

You’ve thought about adoption. You’ve felt that pull in your heart, wondering if you could open your home to a child who needs one. Maybe you’ve considered it for years, but something has held you back.

The SuperKids Adventure Program is a way to take that first step. It offers children the chance to experience family life and gives families an opportunity to explore whether adoption is right for them.

This isn’t just a program—it’s a meaningful experience for both the children and the families involved. It’s about connection, about understanding what it means to welcome a child into your home, and about giving a child a glimpse of what it’s like to belong.

Step 1: Understand Why This Matters

Across Colombia, the Philippines, and Taiwan, children in foster homes and care centers are waiting for families...

Waiting to be seen.
Waiting to be known.
Waiting for a place where they truly belong.

For these children, adoption isn’t just about finding a family—it’s about having the opportunity to grow up in a loving, supportive home. The SuperKids Adventure Program gives them a chance to experience what family life is like in the US.

These children are coming to be embraced, to be cared for, and to build meaningful connections.

And you? You have the opportunity to welcome them with open arms.

Step 2: Make Sure You’re Eligible

The program isn’t for everyone, and that’s okay. But if you’re feeling that nudge, here’s what you need to know:

  • Where You Live Matters – This program is currently open to families in Florida, Illinois, Missouri, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Texas, and Utah—states where Gladney already has strong support networks for this program.
  • You Need to Meet Adoption Guidelines – Since these children are eligible for international adoption, you’ll need to meet the adoption requirements for their country of origin. Each country has different guidelines, but Gladney can walk you through them.
  • Openness to Adoption – You don’t have to commit to adoption before participating in the program, but you should be open to the possibility of welcoming a child into your family.

If you’re unsure, reach out. You don’t have to figure this out alone.

Step 3: Start the Process

If you’re thinking, “I can do this. I want to do this,” the next step is to fill out the Prospective Adoptive Parent Form.

This isn’t a commitment—it’s the beginning of a conversation. It lets the Gladney team get to know you and see if you’d be a good fit for the program. Once you submit the form, someone from the international adoption team will reach out to discuss the next steps.

Step 4: Complete the Application

Once you’re pre-approved, you’ll need to fill out the SuperKids Adventure Program application.

This helps match you with a child who would be a good fit for your family. It’s a bit more detailed—background checks, home details, and an interview with Gladney staff—but it’s all part of ensuring the best experience for both you and the child.

Step 5: Prepare Your Home and Heart

Once you’re approved, it’s time to get ready.

  • Set up a space where the child will feel comfortable and safe.
  • Learn a few basic words and phrases in their native language.
  • Plan fun, low-key activities (outdoor play, movie nights, baking cookies).
  • Be flexible—everything will be new to them, and they might need time to adjust.

The best thing you can do is welcome them as they are—with patience, kindness, and understanding.

Step 6: Welcome a Child into Your Life

Come July, 2025, for 2–3 weeks you’ll have the opportunity to share your home, your traditions, and your everyday life with a child.

It won’t be perfect. There might be moments of nervousness or uncertainty. But there will also be laughter, joy, and unforgettable experiences.

No matter what happens after the program, you will have provided something truly valuable—care, stability, and a sense of belonging.

Step 7: What Happens Next?

After the program, you’ll work with Gladney to determine the best next step.

  • If you feel ready to adopt, they’ll guide you through the international adoption process.
  • If adoption isn’t the right fit for your family, you can still advocate for the child and help them find a permanent, loving home.

Either way, your participation makes a difference—because every child deserves to be known, loved, and care for.

Are You Ready to Say Yes?

This could be the beginning of something incredible—for you and for a child who has been waiting far too long.
