Marcus {Taiwan} Joins Virtual Superkids

Written by Superkids Team | 3/10/21 1:30 PM

Marcus joined our most recent virtual Superkids trip and we are very excited to announce that we have much more information to share with you! We will also be sharing more about him tomorrow during a Facebook Live stream – so be sure to tune in!

During our Zoom call with 6-year-old Marcus, he told us that his favorite animals are rabbits and lions, his favorite color is black, his favorite foods are candies and cookies, and that he dislikes tomatoes and taro soup. He also told us that he enjoys working puzzles (he can complete 300 pieces by himself) and playing with toy cars. His favorite subject in school is math and he can easily count to one hundred. He also tells us about his best friend at school, is able to describe the clothes he is wearing, and says that he cannot speak English, although he said both ‘Thank you’ and ‘Goodbye’ in English at the end of our call. Marcus tells us that he wants to be an airplane pilot when he grows up! Marcus has been living in the same foster home since 2017 and his foster mother describes him as outgoing and adaptable. We hear that Marcus becomes acquainted with others very quickly. The teachers at his school say that his behavior is stable. Besides some verbal and developmental delays, Marcus is otherwise medically healthy. His current foster mother would like his new family to know that even though he is a little behind in his studies, he is still learning and improving. Her wish is that his new family will have patience with him as he learns and will provide ample opportunities for extra practice on school lessons. Marcus currently sleeps by himself in his own room, exhibits good self-care, and receives speech-therapy twice per week.
