Superkids Adventure Program: Building Bridges in Utah

Posted by Gladney Center on 2/9/25 10:33 AM

Utah is a state where family values and community spirit run deep. From the vibrant streets of Salt Lake City to the scenic landscapes of Provo and St. George, Utah families know the importance of connection, compassion, and creating lasting relationships. This summer, families in Utah, Florida, New Jersey, Illinois, Missouri, Pennsylvania, and Texas have the chance to participate in the Superkids Adventure Program—a program designed to meet the needs of children from Colombia, the Philippines, and Taiwan who are looking for a sense of belonging and stability.

Applications are now open, but spots are limited—Apply today to be part of this meaningful experience.

A Chance to Meet the Needs of Waiting Children

The children involved in the Superkids Adventure Program have spent far too much time waiting. Many have been in institutional care or temporary living situations for years—not because they lack love or potential, but because they are older, part of a sibling group, or have minor medical needs. These children, ranging from school-age to teens, are eager for something simple yet profound: to experience what it feels like to be part of a family.

For 2–3 weeks, children will stay with approved families in Utah and other participating states. They’ll have the chance to experience family life—whether that’s attending a summer barbecue, going on a hike in the Wasatch Mountains, or just feeling included in a casual family dinner. Families, in turn, have the chance to learn about each child’s unique background, culture, and personality.

Why Utah Families Are the Perfect Match

Utah is more than just beautiful landscapes and outdoor adventures—it’s a state that values family, connection, and community. Whether it’s a neighborhood in Ogden, a tight-knit community in Logan, or a family home in St. George, Utah families are known for their warmth and willingness to open their hearts to others.

Families in Utah can:

  • Share everyday experiences like exploring Zion National Park, enjoying local festivals, or having cozy family movie nights.
  • Provide a safe, welcoming environment where children feel respected and included.
  • Help advocate for children’s futures by sharing their stories and supporting their journey to permanent homes.

This program isn’t about being perfect—it’s about being present and creating meaningful connections that children will carry with them long after the program ends.

How to Participate

Families from Utah, Florida, New Jersey, Illinois, Missouri, Pennsylvania, and Texas who have completed a Hague-compliant home study are eligible to participate. The children in the program are from Colombia, the Philippines, and Taiwan, and all are eligible for international adoption.

Even if adoption isn’t the immediate outcome, participating families play an essential role by advocating for each child’s future, helping them connect with permanent, loving homes.

Over 2–3 weeks, families will:

  • Welcome a child into their home, offering care, stability, and encouragement.
  • Learn about the child’s interests, personality, and cultural background.
  • Support the child’s long-term adoption journey, either by pursuing adoption or helping them find a permanent family.

Don’t Miss Out—Spots Are Limited!

Each year, only a select number of children are invited to the U.S. through the Superkids Adventure Program, and spots for families fill up quickly. This is a rare opportunity to build meaningful connections, share cultural experiences, and support a child’s journey toward a permanent home.

Applications are open now, but they won’t be for long.

The Moments That Matter Most

Imagine a child seeing the breathtaking views of Arches National Park for the first time, playing in the snow in Park City, or simply feeling included during a family game night at home. These small, everyday moments leave a lasting impact—not just for the children, but for the families, too.

This summer, children will arrive in Utah, eager to experience the warmth and connection of family life. Will your family be part of their journey?
