MATCHED!
We last advocated for Abel in October of 2020, and are excited to announce we now have extensive updates to his file, including new pictures and videos to share! Since we last wrote about Abel, he has continued to make great progress with his language and speech abilities.
Abel joined our Virtual Superkids program in November 2020 and during our Zoom call with him was able to ask and answer questions clearly. He told us his favorite color is red, his name and age, and that he doesn't like watermelon.
We also learned more about his developmental and cognitive growth. He continues to attend occupational and physical therapy and is getting better with potty-training. If he is reminded and asked about his need to use the bathroom, he usually doesn't have any accidents.
Abel is a warm, gentle, and well-behaved child according to his foster mom. They enjoy going to the park, although Abel is timid around cats and dogs. During his virtual occupational screening, he was very happy, talkative, active, and energetic. He built a block tower up to 10 high, could identify big and small as well as match colors, presented good body awareness, and demonstrated good motor planning and control. Great job Abel!
