SuperKids Adventure Program: An Opportunity for Illinois Families
Illinois is a place where family, tradition, and community come first. From the bustling streets of Chicago to the small towns that define the heartland, families here know what it means to stand together and open their hearts to new experiences.
This summer, Illinois families have the unique opportunity to participate in the SuperKids Adventure Program. Children from Colombia and Taiwan will travel to the US for 2–3 weeks to experience life with a family in states including Illinois, Texas, Florida, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Missouri, and Utah.
These children, ranging from school-age to teens, have been waiting—not just for international adoption, but for someone to get to know them, hear their stories, and see their potential.
A Child’s Story: Why They Are Waiting
Each child in the SuperKids Adventure Program has a story to share. Some have been in care for years, while others may be part of sibling groups or have minor medical needs. What they all have in common is the desire for connection—a place where they belong, someone to share their day with, and a family to support them.
Through this program, children aren’t just visiting the US.; they are experiencing what it’s like to be part of a family, even if only for a few weeks. It’s an opportunity for them to be seen and valued, while families get to know the child’s personality, hopes, and dreams.
Why Illinois Families Are a Great Fit
Illinois is home to strong, family-centered communities. Families in Chicago, Springfield, Peoria, Rockford, and beyond have the chance to:
Provide a safe and welcoming environment.
Introduce children to everyday family life, from weekend traditions to daily routines.
Advocate for the child’s future, whether by considering international adoption or helping them connect with a family ready to adopt.
This program isn’t about having a perfect home—it’s about offering a space where a child feels included and valued.
What It Means to Welcome a Child
For 2–3 weeks, Illinois families will:
Provide stability, care, and opportunities for connection.
Learn about the child’s unique personality and aspirations.
Help advocate for their adoption and the best possible placement.
Some families may decide to adopt the child they welcome into their home, while others play an important role in helping the child find their forever family. Either way, the impact is profound.

The Moments That Matter Most
It’s the small, everyday moments that build real connections—stirring pancake batter on a Saturday morning, sharing a game of catch in the backyard, or sitting together after a long day. These experiences create bonds that can last a lifetime.
This summer, you can be part of a child's journey. Whether it’s through the SuperKids program, advocating, or adopting, your family can make a lasting impact.
