Last weekend a huge beautiful event took place in Dallas, Texas to benefit Gladney and children adopted through the Gladney Asia programs. Several Gladney staff members from New York, Illinois, and Texas were able to attend. The One Less Orphan Ice Ball was a warm, fun event that will not soon be forgotten.

The event was planned and orchestrated by Gladney adoptive parents and it was big and beautiful! But then it was Texas and everything is big and beautiful in Texas, right?! Big hearts, big homes, big hair... You get the picture!

Another big thing we experienced was support! We met some amazing adoptive mamas from Texas!  We have a new group of energized families who are involved and who have become friends with one another. Our Texas families have not only the support of Gladney but other supportive adoptive parents to lean on! This group of amazing families is so welcoming to new adoptive parents.   

One Less Orphan Fund has amazing volunteers, donors, and sponsors. Thank you to individuals and businesses who donated items and guests who bid on the amazing prizes. Silent auction items included everything from a new set of braces, to jewelry, to a weekend getaway. So many people generously gave of their resources!

And speaking of big, let's talk food!  Can we just recognize the fact that cake-pops are best consumed in large quantities and with co-workers?

The night was made possible by a woman who has felt called to adopt and in less than one year of being home, she has given of her time, talents and financial resources to make sure that there is "One less orphan". Thank you, Amy, for your vision!

What an amazing night! The highlight of our 2017 for sure and we look forward to meeting more Gladney families, donors, and seeing what is in store at the 2018 Ice Ball in Dallas, TX!
