Meet Luke!

Find me on:

We have spent time with Luke on several occasions. The first time was almost 5 years ago. Each time we have seen him we have written words like "sweet, gentle, thoughtful, and cooperative" in our notes about him.

He is one of those children that stand out. He is caring about the other children, but he is funny and energetic in his own right. He is now almost 12 years old. His file was prepared when he was 7, and still he waits.

Luke has deformed ears and hearing loss. His file also indicates that he has a cleft palate, but our doctors did not see it. It must be a very small cleft, if he has one at all. He is able to hear and speak, but struggles in loud environments. He is a little shy and speaks quietly. Sometimes he preferred writing his answers to our questions rather than trying to compete with the noise in the room.

He did great on the non-verbal testing we did with him, like blew right through it with no problem at all. He entered right in to playing with some of our volunteers on the playground. He is a little shy at first, but warms up quickly.

Luke only has a couple of years before he ages out. We need to find his family now, before it is an emergency. This sweet boy is so deserving!

Please contact us at superkids@gladney.org for more information. While there is not a specific grant attached to the adoption of Luke, we do have a support fund which we can use to assist families, do not hesitate to ask us about it!
