Words cannot express the gravity of emotions when meeting our beautiful baby girl, Destiny for the first time. It was a myriad of love, joy, and an immediate sense of responsibility. There was a knowing that came over us that this was indeed our daughter. Destiny is who God intended to be our priority, pride, and joy forever. We are so connected as a family and I now understand the power of folklore, the invisible red thread!
From the Graduate
I was adopted around the age of 17 months old by my loving Italian American family. My parents ensured that I knew I was adopted at an early age and instilled a sense of pride in me. I am grateful for all the love and opportunities my parents have bestowed upon me. I always felt loved and supported growing up. As an adoptee, I have experienced the best kind of love a child could ask for. My parents provided me with the opportunity to live life to the fullest and embrace both my cultures. I studied Italian on weekdays and Chinese on the weekends. Thank you Gladney Center for bringing our family together. My appreciation for language and culture has inspired me to apply to Graduate School and aspire to become a Speech-Language Pathologist.
