Parent Quote
Placement day. Family Day. OUR day! We met Fu Yu Kang on May 17, 2005, in a plain government building in Chengdu China. All the planning and paperwork, the dreams and decisions, the waiting and worrying had led to this moment. Would she cry? Would she laugh? Would she have a sense of humor? Would she have allergies? Would we bond…? Well, she definitely cried but amazingly, as Chris and I held this strange crying baby, all of those worries fell away and I knew that everything would be fine and that Emma Kang Eddy was right where she was supposed to be!
From the Graduate
Being adopted as a Gladney baby has changed my life in the best way possible. I’m not sure what my life would have been like if I had stayed in China and not been adopted by my wonderful parents but being brought back to the states and growing up here has given me so many opportunities and given me a unique perspective on life. This year I am graduating from high school and planning to go off to Arkansas for college to major in biochemistry.
