We went shopping the day we met, after learning she had never had her own new clothes. I was waiting near the fitting rooms when a store associate came to me and said, “your daughter is calling you.” I quickly replied I didn’t have a daughter. She said, “well, there’s a young girl calling for her mom and you’re the only person out here.” A flood of emotions swept over me and tears began to stream down my face as I walked down the hall. She stuck her head out and said “Mom, I called your name three times and you didn’t answer.”

From the Graduate

Gladney is an agency that allows kids who don’t have a forever family to be chosen by a parent who needs a forever baby. My parents chose me in 2015, and I couldn’t have asked for a better family. While it was full of a lot of ups and downs, I would not be who I am today without Gladney and my forever family. My forever mom has inspired me to be who I am and not what others tell me to be. She has improved my image of myself and helped me grow into a beautiful young lady. Thank you Gladney, especially Ms. Brynn. Adoption was my final step to happiness.

About Peyton

Peyton excelled both academically and in extracurricular activities, including being on the state-qualifying color guard of Colleyville Heritage High School. She has been an active member of the German Club and AVID as well as a member of Peace Lutheran Church. Peyton loves spending time writing, journaling, and drawing as well as playing with the family pets—Aussiedoodle, Tucker, and Miniature Schnauzer, Bentley. She will graduate a semester early in December 2022. Following graduation, Peyton will attend East Texas Baptist University to study secondary education with concentrations in history and mathematics.
