From the Graduate

Adoption to me, means finding happiness and a loving family. I still remember the life I had before, but with my family, I don't have to let the past affect me. I have the support and love of all these people I never would have known without Gladney. My life is full of happiness. Although, my siblings and I have faced many challenges, I wouldn't change it for the world. I have learned so much and have been given limitless opportunities to live my life the way I want. I'm graduating from high school with honors and will be attending Texas Tech University. This would most likely not have happened without the help from my wonderful family. At Texas Tech, I will be majoring in psychology. Adoption and Gladney have had a big effect in my decision. After I was adopted, it took me a while until I was able to completely open myself up. I would bottle everything inside and revert to old habits. Now, I want to be able to help kids and families with similar experiences or traumas. I want to help them in the way in which I have been helped. I want to use the knowledge I gain to help create better lives for others through my own personal experiences.

About Clarissa

Clarissa was accepted into every university she applied to and received scholarships from some of those schools. She decided to attend Texas Tech University. Clarissa graduated high school with honors and was a member of the National Honor Society. She will study psychology and wants to either go to medical school or graduate school. It is now time for her to spread her wings and she can't wait for what the future holds. Clarissa says none of this would have been possible without Gladney.
