Meet Charlie from Taiwan

Posted by Gladney International on 4/3/26 4:30 PM

Charlie is a lively and outgoing 7-year-old from Taiwan who enjoys connecting with others and quickly builds relationships with his peers. He brings great energy to group settings (especially when there’s a game involved). Charlie is highly competitive, motivated, and often steps into a leadership role… particularly if there’s a chance to win.

In new environments or around new people, Charlie may start off a bit quiet and observant, but give him about 30 minutes and he’s ready to jump in and join the fun. He is independent and full of ideas, which can sometimes lead to disagreements with caregivers—Charlie has opinions, and he’s not afraid to share them.

Charlie stays active with skills like hula hooping and climbing giant net tunnels (which he handles like a pro). When he feels upset, he may raise his voice, but he is usually able to calm down within about 10 minutes and can respond well to calm discussion and guidance.

He enjoys a wide range of activities, including sports like basketball and running, as well as card games and Chinese checkers. He also likes playing the ukulele, working on puzzles, and watching television—he can definitely settle in when he finds a show he likes.

With his energy, determination, and big personality, Charlie keeps life moving and makes sure it’s rarely boring.

Charlie’s future family should be ready to do things (a lot of things as he is a true renaissance man), listen when he wants to share his thoughts on how the world should function, and encourage him as he grows up and becomes exactly who he should be. If you feel think you might be the right family for him, reach out to us at InternationalPrograms@gladney.org.
