At just 11 years old, Jean has already proven himself to be a boy full of resilience and determination. Growing up in Thailand, Jean has faced challenges that might have held others back, but instead, they have revealed his strengths. By the time he reached school age, he had already begun learning sign language; he has mastered the US alphabet and is able to sign it correctly in any order given to him.
Jean is not defined by his hearing loss, but by the way he approaches life—with cheerfulness, quick wit, and an eagerness to rise to every occasion. Teachers describe him as smart and resourceful, always able to solve immediate challenges with confidence. His grades continue to improve each year, and he has even been recognized with awards for his academic achievements.
Outside of the classroom, Jean shines on the field and the track. Soccer is his favorite sport, and he loves the feeling of being part of a team. He has also participated in running competitions, where his hard work and determination have led him to win awards in both football and athletics. When he’s not studying or playing sports, Jean enjoys the simple joys of life, like treating himself to a meal at KFC, his favorite.
In 2022, Jean graduated from a school for the deaf, marking a milestone that showed just how much he has accomplished already. But even with all he has achieved, there is one thing Jean cannot provide for himself: a family.
Jean needs a forever family—one who will cheer him on at his soccer matches, support his continued education, share in his favorite meals, and walk alongside him as he continues to grow. A family who will see not just his challenges, but the remarkable young boy he is and the future he has ahead of him.
If you have ever considered adoption, Jean’s story is a reminder that there are children around the world waiting for families to call their own. Jean is ready. He just needs someone to say yes.
