MATCHED!!
We have just received extensive updates on Melody and are thrilled to report that she is showing great improvements and progress across the board!!
We met Melody on our Superkids trip in November of 2019. While we were there, we observed her singing songs to herself while playing with toys. These days, she enjoys dancing very much. Melody has a big and ready smile. While she has some delayed motor development, she is able to walk, dance, and jump on her own. She can throw a ball to others and after a lot of practice, is now able to brush her teeth and wash her face independently. She also makes her own bed when she wakes up and turns the lights off when it’s time to sleep. What a helpful girl!
Since our last post, Melody is now answering questions in complete sentences and showing improvements with her verbal expression. She has new eyeglasses which have improved her hand-eye coordination, and it was evaluated that her vision can be trained to rely mainly on her right eye only. Her adjustment is school has improved and her emotions have become more stabilized.
Melody has shown she is able to develop positive attachments with others. We are really seeing improvements across the board with Melody which is a great sign for her future development! What’s more? She avoids facing frustrations alone by inviting other children to perform difficult tasks with her. We also have several new videos of her, one which shows her looking at a picture book and telling the story based off the pictures alone! She’s becoming such a smart, and funny little girl! She began first grade in August, 2020.
Melody’s foster sister recently found her forever home, and now it’s Melody's turn. Could she be your daughter? To learn more about her, please contact superkids@gladney.org for more information! Also, be sure to join our Taiwan Waiting Child Advocacy group on Facebook to see her photos.
