The unveiling of the Edna Gladney sculpture got the attention of one adoptee named Mary Alex. She was super thrilled to find out that her name was a part of Gladney's long history in the Gladney Visitor's Center located in Fort Worth. The pedestal of the sculpture contains a bronze base relief panel with 66 leaves. Each leaf represents 150 babies that were adopted during Edna’s time of service at the Gladney Center. Pictured below is Mary Alex's leaf.

Much thanks to Edna Gladney for the amazing legacy she has given to Mary Alex and so many others. She will always be remembered at Gladney and with all of the families that she touched.
