Every night, Tyrone prays, “Father God, all I want is for you to bless me with a perfect family.” This young man, who’s been in foster care for four years, is ready to find his forever home—a family that believes in him, supports his ambitions, and shares in his faith.

Honoring Aleda’s Adoption Legacy

At Gladney, we understand the importance of honoring and celebrating the cultural backgrounds of every child, especially in transracial adoptions. This Hispanic Heritage Month, we encourage adoptive families to embrace the richness of Hispanic culture, particularly when adopting from countries like Colombia, Ecuador, and the Dominican Republic, where Gladney facilitates international adoptions, in addition to families adopting Hispanic children from the foster care system. 

I see my friends going. New mommies and daddies, sisters and brothers . . . showing up, crying, hugging, welcoming—new families starting—my friends getting a forever. 

Jeremiah is a young child who finds great joy in the simple pleasures of childhood. He delights in playing with his toy cars and balls, rolling them across the floor and watching them zip and zoom. Jeremiah also loves to watch the adventures of the Paw Patrol pups, their heroic rescues and amusing antics capturing his attention whenever the show is on. On weekends, Jeremiah's foster parents take him and the other children to the local park, where he eagerly explores the playground equipment. The tall, twisting slide is a particular favorite, Jeremiah giggling with glee as he slides down its smooth surface. For unfamiliar structures at the park, Jeremiah first observes cautiously before mustering the courage to join in the fun. His natural curiosity and sociability allows him to seamlessly integrate with any groups of children he encounters.

We are thrilled to announce that the Gladney Center for Adoption has officially received accreditation to work in Ecuador! This is an exciting development that expands our international adoption programs, providing even more opportunities for children in need of forever families.

In the spirit of hope and love, we want to share the need of three brothers—Collin, Chris, and Crew. These siblings have shared an unbreakable bond throughout their lives, but now, as Crew nears the age where he will age out of the system, time is running out. Without the love and commitment of a special family, these boys face separation.

On September 19, 2024, $68 million was raised for over 3,000 nonprofit organizations. North Texas Giving Day has hosted an annual fundraising event in the Dallas-Fort Worth area since 2009. 

At Gladney, we are thrilled to announce our new partnership with a remarkable children's care facility in Pattaya, Thailand. This partnership strengthens our commitment to advocating for children worldwide by connecting loving, qualified families with children who need homes. Our collaboration with Pattaya is currently focused on finding families for children between the ages of 5 and 6, who are waiting for adoption, with minor to no medical needs.

Adopting a child with a trauma history often means navigating unique challenges, especially when it comes to education. For many waiting children, their schooling has been disrupted multiple times as they’ve moved between foster homes, school districts, and curriculums. This constant instability, coupled with the lack of a consistent advocate, often results in educational delays. As you welcome your child into your family, a new challenge lies ahead: building trust while ensuring they receive the academic support they need to succeed.
