Meet Wren: A 7½ Waiting For A Family

Posted by Beth Edwards on 9/25/25 4:45 PM

At just 7½ years old, Wren already shines with a bright spark for learning and caring for others. She loves reading picture books with the help of phonics, counting money when shopping, and takes pride in learning her 9s multiplication tables. But more than anything, Wren knows one very important thing about herself: she wants gentle parents.

A Warm and Caring Spirit
Wren has been diagnosed with ADHD and Tourette’s Syndrome, and she’s working hard to navigate some really big feelings. She thrives when adults encourage her with praise and celebrate her accomplishments. Motivated by small rewards and her natural competitive spirit, Wren listens well when reminded to slow down. A calm, quiet environment helps her feel safe and grounded.

Her big heart shines through in her love for helping younger children. With a strong sense of justice, Wren notices when someone is struggling and makes sure they get the support they need by finding an adult.

The Simple Joys
Wren’s favorite things are simple yet meaningful - strawberry-flavored treats, lending a hand around the house, and listening to soft music before bedtime. At night, she often talks quietly to herself as she drifts off to sleep, comforted by knowing an adult is nearby.

The Right Family for Wren
Wren will thrive with parents who are patient, understanding, and trauma-informed-parents who will honor her request for gentleness. She needs caregivers who can walk with her through the challenges of big emotions while cherishing the sweet moments, like when she gestures for a hug.

Autism: Perspectives That Shine

Posted by Beth Edwards on 9/12/25 3:39 PM

If you’ve ever heard the saying, “If you’ve met one autistic person, you’ve met one autistic person,” you already know the first golden rule: autism is not a one-size-fits-all kind of thing. It’s more like a giant, beautiful quilt—full of different colors, patterns, and textures—stitched together with individuality.

We are thrilled to share some wonderful news—Winston has been matched with his forever family! While he is no longer eligible for adoption, we couldn’t be happier for him as he begins this exciting new chapter. Please join us in congratulating Winston and his new family!

_______________________________

If 2-year-old Winston’s adorable giggle doesn’t steal your heart, his sweet little dance moves will! He’s a cheerful little guy with an irresistible personality, always eager to share his happiness with everyone--even strangers. Whether he's swaying to music, singing his heart out, or riding his tricycle, Winston brings smiles wherever he goes. He loves kicking a ball around with his caregivers, too, and looks to them for interaction and encouragement. He’s a typical toddler when he doesn’t get what he wants or needs and shows it by stomping, shouting, or crying, but is easily redirected.

MATCHED Introducing Taiwan SuperKid: Winnie!

Posted by Beth Edwards on 3/18/25 1:31 PM

Her tiny hands reach for new discoveries like leaves and rocks and her little feet run as she catches bubbles. Two is such a fun age filled with sparks of joy and a growing sense of independence. Sometimes her hands will curiously dismantle small toys and other times they will reach for a hug once she knows you well enough.

Life with an Extra Chromosome | International Adoption

Life with an Extra Chromosome | International Adoption

We finish each day with a dance party right before their bedtime. My 10-year-old has most of the K-Pop choreography memorized and will belt out the lyrics (her version) to any song that comes on. My 11-year-old creates his own dance moves and accurately sings the last word of each line, still a die-hard Raffi fan. The 15-year-old sways and verbalizes to the songs at her own pace and rhythm choosing to join in with all the genres.
