May signifies the arrival of the first Japanese immigrants to the United States in 1843 and the completion of the transcontinental railroad on May 10, 1869, also known as Golden Spike Day. The Asian American and Pacific Islander communities play an integral role in the American cultural landscape, showcasing their incredible diversity with over 100 languages spoken across 50 different ethnic groups.

How do you measure?….. How do you describe?…. How do you participate?! These are questions in my mind as I write this post to capture Gladney Center’s volunteer experience in the 2022 Special Olympics USA Games.
But, I’m not going to have to come up with an answer to any of those questions today (phew!) because actually, the question I need to answer (because it’s been asked a lot) is “WHAT is the connection between Gladney‘s Superkids Program and the Special Olympics?” So, ok, let me give it my best shot here.

Gladney Center’s Superkids program will be a group volunteer participant in the June 2022 Special Olympics in Orlando Florida!
We hope you will consider joining our volunteer group to help on-site at Orlando and Disney area venues of the Special Olympics. We are focusing our volunteer participation around the long weekend of June 4-7, 2022.
