It’s that time of year again when we gather all our paper and forms together, file our taxes, and hope for the best. Will our refund be enough to take a vacation, or will we have to pay? Is it a W-2 or W-4? Why didn’t my company withhold enough? What is a CPA anyway? TurboTax or H&R Block?

We met Kip for the first time in November 2019, and what a cutie! He was a little shy with us and wasn’t too into trying all of our tasks. But, hey, we’re weird looking and weird sounding strangers! He did warm up to us after some time and we got to see a playful side to him. He loves to play house, especially with kitchen toys. Maybe he’ll be a chef one day!

Sometimes I wonder what it is like to read our posts as we struggle to relay the unique preciousness of each child. I feel like we use the same words, the same descriptions. Over and over we tell you how blown away we were with a child, how special that child is. But here is the thing, it is true. Each and every time it's true. and if you could just meet the child you would see and understand that. Instead we are tasked with telling you in a few words how special a child is.

Corbin - we met him several years ago. I knew we would be seeing him again when we went to China in November. I felt strangely nervous about it. It is hard to think about kids and try so hard to find their family and go back to see them again. They certainly have not spent as much time thinking about you as you have spent thinking about them!

Last week, our Gladney families and staff attended the Chinese New Year celebration in New York to bring in the new year.

Are you ready to meet Alexander The Cute?!?!  Alexander is such a sweet little three and half year old boy!

Alexander enjoyed playing with all the toys we brought.  When a toy particularly sparked his interest, he would show it to his social worker so that she could share in the discovery along with him, which melted our hearts. He 

When I heard through Texas Christian University that the Gladney Center for Adoption had a potential internship opportunity, I was curious to find out how they serve children. During my internship so far, I have learned Gladney keeps the best interest of the children in mind. I am so honored and grateful for this journey of serving here. I have observed genuine, caring individuals in every department, from Donor Relations to Marketing. From driving in the entrance and parking my car to walking the walls of Gladney, I have seen messages that symbolize the heart and passion of Gladney’s staff for the children they serve: 

Late last year, WFAA shared a wonderful update in their Wednesday's Child segment. Eric, a 17-year-old boy in foster care, was featured in October 2019. That appearance inspired a Gladney Family to take action. By November, just six days before his 18th birthday, Eric officially became a member of their family.
