We had a wonderful first day in Taiwan at Cathwell orphanage. We met so many amazing children! We were all impressed with the well mannered and calm, zen-like persona of the older boys we met with.

Traditions make the holidays a special time for children and their families, and we have traditions at Gladney, too!

Jenae is a Gladney Mom, and she will be running the 2019 TCS New York City Marathon as part of Gladney's charity team. In addition to physically training, she has been fundraising to support Gladney in creating bright futures through adoption. Thank you, Jenae!

Our China Ambassador Program Wish List:

Developmental Pediatricians to visit children in China.

Our wish list is small, but the need is great.  We need volunteers with a medical background, especially developmental pediatricians, who would like to give time and expertise to participate in the program to increase awareness and acceptance of children with a variety of lifelong medical conditions.  Our ultimate wish is to help more children with a variety of developmental delays find prepared and loving families who can offer children lifelong love and opportunity.

We are going to Taiwan... and soon! On November 2nd we will be on our way! we will introduce the team soon, but today we need your help collecting items for our trip. 

Fall is here, and we are looking forward to the cooler weather and the opportunity to raise awareness during National Adoption Month! Vince Gill will be joining us for an intimate performance, celebrating in true southern style on the new stage of the Glass Cactus at the Gaylord Texan Resort in Grapevine.

Cecily is part of CCCWA’s new Ambassador of Love program.  Prospective Parents are invited by the CCCWA to meet this child in China as part of the matching process.  For more information please contact superkids@gladney.org.

Yesterday, Gladney University participants had the pleasure of hearing from Lauren Labeth, LCSW, about Theraplay® and how she uses this in her practice with families.  Lauren gave a quick overview of Theraplay® and why this mode of treatment is beneficial for all families looking to build a deeper connection with their children.  Along with building a connection with others, we learned that play is used to promote the creation of new neural connections, learn social skills, and test situations in a safe environment.  For children that have experienced trauma or diagnosed with a developmental delay, play is crucial for  brain development and relationship building.
